On the plus side, with the head coming off, im gonna get it painted before it goes back on, it will delay getting her fixed, but reckon its worth it!
oh sorry to hear about lilly getting poorly, might be worth doing a head gasket change, its not too dificult, even if youv never done one before as long as youve got a haynes its easy! lol at least she looks all pretty! just realised James has over-sills on him so they will have to go! and he should be getting a tidy up whilst im doing my project this month so hopefully he will be looking good for his first time meeting Lilly at L2B he might even have a new FG front if insurance guy says yes! also got some grp2arches after seing yours! and he has Alloys! went with black in the end, well the front two are still silver but the rears are matt black with chrome center cap and nuts! i think James will enjoy meeting another Advantage, especialy one as pretty as Lilly! lol

I reckon shes looking forward to meeting James too!
does this mean you wont be driving lily on saturday then??? would be a shame now iv finally got mine on the road.
Dooby, she is going to the Bubble, even if she doesnt want to!
Make sure its not the thrmostat housing, I thought I got water coming out the head at the front before and turned out to be the thermo housing leaking and dripping water onto the front of the head where the gasket sits.
Paul.
Thanks paul

The thing is, both the block and head were checked and measured when it was being rebuilt and then the head was checked again when it got back and they were both absolutely fine

Last sunday I had arranged with my club and the local paper that we would meet their photographer to have our pics taken!! Went to leave, pulled out from my grandparents house, to see some liquid coming out from under the bonnet and ending up on my windscreen.
I stopped as quick as I could and ended up down some little residential road. I had a look and the little rubber pipe that links the petrol line to the carb had split
I was stood struggling trying to get the pipe on futher to miss the cut when a guy came out of his house to see what was up. Turns out he'd just bought a Mini and loved working on cars. He had a look, nipped round to his mates and came back with a bit of replacement pipe and fixed it!! Lucky or what?! Absolute winner!
Since then, she seems to be running a lot better and starting a lot better, so not sure if there was a little hole in it or something?

I had the block and head checked yesterday and the heads fine, the blocks banana shaped
Just cant believe it. Everyone had been telling me they'd never seen a wonky block before even after years of working with Minis. It would be mine that would be different!
