More stuff done today including:

Painting up brackets to bolt back on (radiator hose, clutch, and radiator):
Posted Image

Handbrake and rod selector are now in - selector pin giving me the classic run around :dozing::
Posted Image
Posted Image

Doors are waxoyled - ended up ditch the crap-tastic spray gun in favor of pouring it directly into the doors. Much simpler, and the gullies now suitably oyled:
Posted Image

Flywheel housing breather is also back on following it's touch up:

We press on! :D

Another day but nothing particularly big fitted.

Got the new studs into the arches. Only 2 wouldn't go and will require some modding (the old stud base has rusted and snapped off):
Posted Image

Clutch and radiator brackets all done, fitted the clutch one today - need to find the hex screws for the rad:
Posted Image

Also sanded down and treated the window guides for rust:

Just a quick one here - if anyone is looking for the hex-screws (Part: MYP100610) used primarily for the radiator brackets and bonnet catch on MPIs try these guys. When I tried last week 'sport, 'spares and Somerford were fresh out:

They stock other hard to find parts as well so worth a look if you're having trouble.

Yesssss I be back again - sorry for the long delay on this one, it's been quite the month where I've been using the weekends to sleep most of the time.

So without further ado, the interior!

New headlining is in:
Posted Image

Passenger door mounted, and the window/lock mechs are all fitted:
Posted Image
Posted Image

The now very clean carpet is in:
Posted Image
Posted Image

For comparison, this was how it looked before - crazy what a good deep clean can do:
Posted Image

Dash is now rebuilt after being stripped down and relaquered:
Posted Image

Also fitted a seatbelt warning light instead of the green blanked lens which served no purpose. The new laquer gives the dash a far more textured effect instead of plasticy shine - much prefer how it is now:
Posted Image

Things to do:
- Heater matrix
- Speedo cable needs a hole finding.
- Headlights
- New rear shocks to go on.
- Petrol tank in once the wiring and pipes are checked over behind it.
- Dash goes in after loom checks out.

No it's not finished yet, ye gods what a nightmare it's been. ^_^ The push is on mind you... again.

By the way, where's the Oli fella got to from Hereford? I have more work for him if he's still up for it. Well... saying that, work for anyone willing and able. Ultimately here's the sit-rep. My brains like a sieve for anything that *was* related to building SirD back up again. I'm willing to pay up £spondulix to someone capable and determined to finish him off. I've been quoted £3500 by one well-known Mini garage and I find that very hard to believe - a total front end rebuild (everything forward of bulkhead) I know to be about that price. I might sound stupidly naive but what's left seems to be far less work than that.

If you feel you have the time and don't live too far away from Somerset please PM me and I'll give to the run down of what's required. I'm happy to help as well (believe me I want him on the road again) but quite simply, I've forgotten pretty much everything about how to put him back together again... properly.
