Hmm.. emailed them and asked them to cancel the order, money is tight and I don't need to go wasting it on fancy bits.. panels is what I need to be buying! boring I know.. but it's gonna get me back on the road sooner, first weekend of not driving has been horrible :D

Got trigger happy with the mouse :D

Right, panels.. where should I start looking for some good quality & relatively cheap panels?

Also decided against my attempt of re-routing the hoses, the rubber grommets aren't going to provide a nice tight fit & it needs to be watertight, so I suggested to my Dad this morning that I was going to buy a new blanking plate, draw the circles out & find someone with the right machinery to cut them out. Then I was reading MiniWorld this morning and came across a small article about http://www.smiffysbits.co.uk/ who sells this,

Which can be supplied with the 2 holes cut at no extra cost, so I'll buy one of those tonight.

Haven't got any sheet metal or the skills to do it.. I know it's an easy job but I like to think of myself as a perfectionist & I wouldn't be able to get it neat, and for a tenner it hardly seems worth the hassle! Anyway, it's ordered

Ordered a nice amount of bits last night, but you'll see what they are when they turn up :P all I need now is panels.. and maybe some other little bits I come across like electrical things & I still need to devise a way of fastening down the flip front. I was just thinking 2 bonnet pins, wanted to keep it as subtle as possible but if I'm going for the overall MK1/2 retro rally look then it doesn't matter and would look fapping amazing

It's already alarmed  I'll just have to move the push sensor to the tab where the bonnet pin sits.

i cant wait till you paint this beige :). well you better anyways :). i've pretty much got all my panels, apart from a pair of sills ill be needing to replace on the mayfair, but theyre oversills right now, and arent showing any major problems this very moment in time.. so ill replace them when i can afford.

Get some duez fastners. They are pretty subtle and can be hidden quite easily.

Yeah I'll have to look into that, it'll be something I do when the front is on.. that way I can see where it's flimsy & what panels I've got to fasten it to.

This turned up today, bit to 'blingy' for my liking but it's gonna do the job perfectly, just won't polish it & it'll dirty up after a while.

Seeing as I'm bored I'll whack my boiler suit on and fit this before it gets dark.

Got half way through the job, I'm going up with the hoses so trying to see what I'm doing and squeeze the hose through the hole is pretty damn tricky.. managed to get one through, the other is proving more difficult but It'll be okay with more daylight hours to keep trying.

Also took it for a quick cheeky spin around the village :withstupid: man, I miss driving her!
