Gee thanks man, really appreciate the kind words & I'm glad I can be of some help
I did some election duty work yesterday, so I was sat on a really quiet polling station with another bloke called Alister, never met him before, but luckily he was into classic cars as wellso I spent from 6 in the morning till 10 at night talking mainly about classics
I told him about how I needed my Sump Plug helicoiled and where the best place to get it done was, he didn't know of anywhere local to me, but suggested that rather than taking my whole engine on a trailer, I just separate the gearbox from the rest of the engine & that once it's off I can clean the sump out from 19-20 years of metal filings & any other debris that is sat in there.
Seems like a sensible idea to me, and worthwhile, is this an easy job then? I'm assuming I just undo all the nuts the whole way round and it'll just drop off from the main block?
Take off clutch cover(wok), take of clutch/flywheel assembly, take off bell housing, undo all the little bolts on the bottom of the block. It should then come off.
Looking good so far though.
