we are spending quite a bit of time on the interior as we want it to look something special. we have seen a few kits built up and never been completely happy with the results that have been achieved. we decided that the best route would be to construct something completely bespoke and handcrafted.
with regard to the engine, we are using an engine that my mate Si has as i dont currently have the funds to build a new engine as well as building the car. but i might be building something new in the future.........
Excellent colour!
im glad you think so, thanks Bean!! I think its so cool!!!

after spending another evening crawling around under the Domino, i have made further progress. the front-to-rear brake line is in and the power cable is also in. i have taken some pictures to show you all how things are coming along...

tomorrow night my mate Si is coming over and with his help I hope to get both the subframes back in and bolted up. then the shell will be rolling again!! watch this space!!

things have come on nicely today and I feel that we have made some major headway with the build. we have installed the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder after stripping them down, cleaning, painting and then re-assembling them. we have also stripped, cleaned, painted and re-assembled the pedal box before installing into the car. all of the brake lines for the front end of the car have also been connected.
now for some piccies...

Am curious as to SVA testing, when it comes around. I have read elsewhere that the Domino was designed pre current SVA regs and might not meet the standards set these days. You have obviously put a lot of thought and planning into this project and I was wondering ( before I start one of my own) what pitfalls you are likely to encounter.

This thread is turning out to be a great "How To" feature too! Love your attention to detail. Going to be a prime example when finished !

it really is great to hear that there are others out there that do read the posts that we put up. we have often noticed the "number of readers" counter going up alot but you never know how many people out there are genuinely interested in keeping up to date with our progress...
i havent been round to andy's this week, but we do speak most evenings in the week. he has told me that there has been more progress made with the handbrake now installed, the steering column back in again, the front cross member and teardrops installed. andy also came round to my place on wednesday and collected the engine that he'll be installing so that he can prepare that.
i wont be around this weekend either, so the next piccies that you all see will be considerably different!
that's all folks!!

a few things have been happening recently. lets start with this week (because its fresh in my mind, and i dont need to do much thinking...). the domino shell went off to be stored in andy's brother's garage, to make room to build my subframes (thats another story for another post...). andy has also started taking apart the 998 that will go in the domino. a new 276 cam has been ordered, to suit the eaton supercharger (make her blow a bit harder!). andy has also started cleaning the engine and gearbox.
also, big news! the 12g295 head has come back from the engineers and has had all new valve guides, valves, unleaded valve seats and a skim. andy has cleaned it up this afternoon and given it a nice coat of bmc green engine paint.
finally, the material to do andy's interior panels arrived

now for some pics for you all to "enjoy"...!!

oh and this is andy and me being complete retarded idiots this afternoon wheeling the engine around in a wheelbarrow. there was a point to this - clean it!

its been a while since we last posted. various jobs have been done on the domino, but i have also had my mates shell in my garage for a few weeks so that has slowed things a bit.
today has been a good day - its been foreigner thursday!! i had been down to rs components to get some tubes to make my supercharger inlet manifold which i took into work with me today. they have been cut, welded, bent, cut and welded some more to produce the finished item......
and here it is....!!!

total cost - the massive sum of £55....
