I wouldn't say that I have any sort of disorder,.. I've always been quiet and shy,.. not that people who know me would beleive a word of it as I now have so much more confidence than I used to and that is due to what has happened in my life over the last few years, but I wont bore you with the details.

In basics i used to find it sometimes impossible to talk to people, i'd go to the doctor ill and freeze, my mum would have to speak for me, i'd avoid talking to people face to face, if there was something i really wanted to say i'd make them turn away from me :D i made every effort to avoid new people and not to go to the counter BUT the career I chose has meant that i had no choice other than to talk to people and meet new people, I really struggled at first but now its so incredibly easy, sometimes i dont know what to say and sometimes things come out in a jumble but thats normal it happens to everyone.

When I left school I never thought I'd be where I am now, a room leader in a baby unit,.. helping to run a local mini club, designing things for them, organising my own meets, I never thought i'd have the guts or confidence to. Not to mention all the new people i have met, made friends with and am constantly meeting and talking to.

If your really finding it to be such a problem and can't overcome it in a similar way to i did, then go to your doctor, take a note or someone for support if you need to and see what they can do to help. :D

I wouldn't mind quite so much if I could just stop the excessive blushing, that one really gets me down.

some people might see this as a quality of yours :D

As for blushing, everyone does it, and loads of people blush easily, i know i'm one of them. I'm sure the people at my work say things on purpose just to point out i've gone as red as my uniform,.. i always get my own back though :D

Just an update on everything that’s happened over the weekend, for anyone that cares.

As some of you know, Friday was my last day of work. I did the usual stuff, brought in cakes and didn’t do any work all day. Unfortunately my boss decided that we needed to all crowed round my desk. As you’d expect, this was rather embarrassing but I managed to not blush too much. They gave me a leaving card and a £35 voucher for HMV which was really nice of them. I had to make a speech though, my mind went blank and I really couldn’t think what to say. That was really quite uncomfortable.

After work we all we bowling, which was actually a really good laugh even though I came second last in both games. Afterwards we sat down and had a few drinks. It was the same as always for me, I tend to be even quieter around the people at work. It’s probably because most of them are quite loud. I still had a good time and I am going to miss most of them.

On Saturday my parents and I went to a BBQ that my Dads friend was having for his 60th birthday. I’ve known everyone there for many years, most of my life really. I barely said a word the whole day though, was even more quiet then usual which was surprising.

Later that evening, I went with my friend, his girlfriend, his aunt and his mum to a leaving do at a pub for one of guys his mum works with. A lot of people who said they would turn up didn’t, even the guy whose leaving do it was left quite early. I was sat with my mate, his girlfriend and his aunt for the whole night. I actually had a really good time and seemed to be leading the convocation most of the night which was quite amazing for me. I think the drink may have been helping a little; my friend’s girlfriend and I were rather drunk by the time we left. We all went back to his house, crashed out on the bed and watched some Family Guy until the early hours. I’m not sure if it was because of the drink, but the three of us were even more comfortable around each other then usual. Although my mate did later speak to me and say he thought me and his girlfriend got rather too comfortable, but he doesn’t blame it on me.

So overall it’s been a very mixed weekend. One minute I was as quiet as a mouse, the next everyone was listening to every word I had to say. One of the people at the pub did say I was very quiet to my face, which was very irritating as she was sat nowhere near me so how would she know? Some people really do insist on sharing their opinion, even when it can rather hurt someone’s feelings.

Jimbo, do you ever think that people may be "accusing" you of being quiet because they are worried that something may be wrong?

Well not when it's someone I've never met before and doesn't even know my name.

Nope, it's simply the fact that people just have to give their opinion on everything and seem to think the world revolves around them.

as you all know, i have aspergers syndrome and find crowds a problem along with people i dont know a hard thing to deal with. its similar but different at the same time. kinda hard to explain but i dont like speaking to a group of people i dont know as i dont know where to start with things or how to interact with people. i blush when attention is drawn to me and i do coment about others at times. its life tho and i have to deal with it. in the last 5 years i have had to "grow up" as it were as dad passed away so things were tough. i do have days where i dont want to face the world and see anyone, mainly now when things are bad at home with mum. i know people say its not hard to get out there, but i know it is at times. chin up dude, you will work it out in the end, i am still trying!

Unless its just because i never shut up!!

You were probably too drunk to notice anything.
