I don't object to normal chrome on Minis - light rims, grille, bumpers, door handles, bullets (on the right car)...basic standard chrome trim is fine. My problem lies with people who insist that anything that looks like bear metal needs to have a chrome finish on it.

I'd love to sneak up when they're not looking and put fingerprints all over their shiny stuff...Posted Image

lol :teehee: :)

I agree about over-plastered union jack flags looking tacky, just one on each A-Panel is enough for me.

I've got chrome tex mirrors, chrome door handles, chrome boot handle, chrome aston petrol cap and chrome bumpers and overriders. I've got clear front indicators, side repeaters and rear lenses. That's it really, not too bad I reckon. You'll always have this argument between the standard brigade and the non-standard lot. I don't like chrome wheels, bodykits and silly tints (black) Oh, and loads of pink which looks poo.

A prime example of a mini which is really tacky. (anything with a bmw badge)

And i dont really like clear rear lights or union jacks.

Agreed, they look like something that fell out of a Xmas cracker or a box of cornflakes.

I agree, but did you know that it wasn't actually BMW who were responsible for that car, Rover designed before they went bust, I found that the other day,

The cardinal sin on that one is the BMW grille...

Mmm, that reminds me of another one I saw on Ebay, which was so outrageously tacky I nearly bought it!

Damn, can't find the pics here - I have them at work but it won't let me log in... will dig them out

Nothing makes a mini tacky, otherwise you wouldn't have put it on your mini!! Its all to do with personal preference, Ok I'm willing to admit I don't like some stuff on a Mini but this is what I think, there is no reason why anyone should listen to me if they think its good!

You lot are all talking about how half of this "tack" has come out of crackers, but they wouldn't be used if people didn't like them, so there is obviously a market that is doing well for this "tack".

Wow, thats an impressive beast!! Quite, quite hideous

I am now slightly worried about getting my bodykit on my car... it s the wider version of the one on that green thing... although without the grills in the arches :/
Unfortunately, its the only way I can think to run the wheels I have!!
