quick update is order I guess..............

bespoke front hubs / flanges for 100mm PCD are in finalisation with Martin at MRA
MRA's front six pot calipers will be coming at the same time, hopefully in the next week or so.
gearbox is being fettled
fast road clutch kit is on order
Alex has started working up the head
c20XE crank has been wedged and balanced
H section rods and pistons have been balanced ( or at least checked that they are in balance - glad to say theyre totally spot-on
all the carbon fibre is here now except for the roof skin
rear lights are finished, front spots have been started
all stereo equipement is now here and in waiting
driveshafts, CV's and various other twiddley bits are here from Alspeed
all suspension parts are now here
fuel pump, filter and pressure regulator is here
various shelves of shiny stuff has been accumulated

stuff on order:

alloy front top arms - MRA
alloy bottom arms - MRA
alloy rear arms - SC

stuff to buy...................

roll cage
gearshift mechanism
secret bits for dash instrumentation
alloy fuel cell
swirl pot


stuff to paint

rocker cover
head
gearbox

the big hold up at the moment is due to shifty's success - he's so busy welding up other peoples projects he cant make it over to work on the body - he's just too damned good, and popular

thought i ought to get my finger out............cookie helped me out by prepping up the frame, got rid of all the weld spatter and jig marks, so I threw some paint on today. Laquer to follow at 4.00pm.

ps - unit is also now fumigated

metallic charcoal - lush!




no runs but managed to splash myself with half empty can - now look like a dalmation

whata difference a bit of laquer makes

any moths and bugs that survived this morning's toxic cloud are now well and truly dead ( but shiny )

now at last we can get a feel for what the colour scheme will be like under the bonnet







bit of particulate has settled, but its floating on the top, so should rub out tomorrow

I put the final skin on the rear light pods last night - thin fleece and resin, cookie's helped with sand-back and final prep today.

think I might leave them as leopard skin effect

Your lights are basecoated ,laquer in the morning .... Can you afford the 600 quid I reckon these have cost ??
i did 2 more squirts of paint before I left, and both times particulate the size of a cows head managed to float in and land on them - I'll give them another 1200 rub over in the morning and squirt some shiny on, see if that pearl really does what it says onthe tin

Just to point out, cookie has been helping me out, and his input has been invaluable In the last few weeks , he's spent so much time working on these light pods , they've pretty much got his Dna inthem now.
Results will be seen over the weekend

well, I'm having second thoughts abvout this colour - maybe its not white enough, or maybe even needs to be a cooler blue pearl rather than the warm white pearl that it is.

at least one aspect of the project is nearly finished
