Hi Ewok,

Sorry I missed your post altogether! >_< The arches aren't turreted as such, its more a mount for the anti roll bar to sit on.This is the only picture i have to hand but il try and send you some more when I get chance.

On another note I splashed out on some seats for it which should be arriving shortly after new year.I went for a pair of Corbeau revolutions in carbon fibre. They are the excel width for my big rump so might have a game on getting them to fit but sure il get there.Il get some pictures up once they arrive.Progress has been slow elsewhere as ive been away for christmas and im away for new year as well so hopefully will be back on it after that so might get a few more updates.

Cheers Ross.

Right, new seats turned up this morning which was a bonus as I wasnt expecting them for a while yet. They are corbeau revolutions in the wider width,I went for these ones as I thought the grey should go quite nicely with the interior,I like carbon fibre and i got them for what I would say was a decent price. They came with a set of alloy side mounts as well but not sure I will be using them as i will most likely make up a tubular frame like the one on the drivers side and adjust the existing side mounts for the drivers seat.

They say a picture tells 1000 words so here we go.(The photos make it look like one is a totally different colour to the other but its ok in real life - one is ever so slightly lighter than the other as one has never been out of its box and the other had been used for a trial fit but its nothing like the difference in the pictures, well either that or my eyes are on the blink :P One of them is still a bit damp from cleaning so that possibly makes things worse as well)

The good news is that my fat arse and legs fit in them nicely and im not cramped up in them like the normal size version.Im going to get into the garage later on to see if i can fit both of them in the car but im sure it will be fine - famous last words.

Cheers Ross.

EDIT - Just noticed in the shot of the side mounts that rosco junior has been scribbling on the carpet with a felt tip - GGGRRRRR!

Had my first effort of popping the seats in the car yesterday afternoon and the answer to the question of do they fit?......................do they hell!

Well they possibly will but its really tight and until I cut the old mounts out etc I cant really tell for sure. The drivers seat should sit pretty much as the old one did with the outer wing in the rear window area but the pasenger one cant get that far back as one of the bars is in the way and I dont want to cut it out. That means staggering the seats and having the passenger one quite a bit further forward. Also its pretty tight in the centre so would have to convert the handbrake to an upright position and have more of a push pull type motion more like a hydraulic one if you know what I mean?

Plan is to get the drivers side one in position and then see how much room i have left, worst case is that I will need to buy a pro series instead to replace the passenger one.

Boring update.

Got the second door all welded up tonight.Bar cutting off and plating over the check strap mounts, they are all done - pictures to follow tommorrow night if i get chance.

After that bit plating and grinding the welds down is to cut out the drivers side seat mounts and start making some new ones, hoping to get a start on that on friday night.

Cheers Ross.

Hi,everyone,

Cut the door check mounts off both doors this evening and got them ready to be plated over which I will do the welding on during the week. Also since the kids were visiting their grandma, the grinder stayed out to cut the old seat mounts from the cage.Just cut the brackets off but the tubes still need tidying up from the old welds etc.

Mounts cut out.

Posted Image

I popped what was left of the old mounts on one of the new seats to see how well it fitted to the car.

Fits around the cage quite nicely but most importantly.....I can use the tubular frame thats already welded into the shell as the mounts line up pretty good but obviously in a different place - when I make the new ones the drivers one needs to be a bit longer than it is now.Really pleased as I didnt want to have to cut it out - impossible without hacking the floor to bits as its tagged to the floor along each of the tubes.

Then decided to see if both seats would actually get anywhere close to going in now the drivers was in its proper place. Its hard to say as its just sitting roughly in place on normal side mounts until I make another frame like the drivers but it looks like it will just about go in - its a touch snug though! Will get it positioned better once the frames made and go from there.

Camera playing tricks with the colour again!

Greg - Sorry mate I completely forgot,if you need them just let me know.

Cheers Ross.

It comes with some brackets that would normally bolt through the rail at the top of the windscreen but im going to weld a couple of brackets onto the cage and mount it from that i think.

Cheers Ross.
