I did this

Fitted bonnet pins, unsure about whether to have the bonnet open at the back or not?

Fitted timing gear, used the old crank gear as the new one looked chewed up already (from new!)

Made a slide hammer to remove the 1st motion shaft, tried it out, works well - apart from forgetting about the large circlip! Hope I haven't damaged the bearing, those things are expensive!

Tried to remove the circlip with the pliers I have, will need to invest in a better set.

Fitted chrome arch covers over the black plastic ones.I think it really improves the look.

Also could do with giving her a good wash and polish but her indoors got annoyed that it took me an hour or so to do those so another 2 hours to wash would probably end in divorce!

Fitted twin carbs to the 850 POWEERRRR

I fitted the bonnet, boot, wheels and arches I painted, and took my 1275 mini gt vinyl stickers off and replaced with new 1389 mini gt stickers and replaced my discs and pads. (done yesterday not today)

Most folk Ive met think the exact opposite and it cheapens the look but glad you like them

This afternoon I prepped my rear valance for paint as the seam moulding was showing signs of corrosion , I've treated some of it with Active 8 rust treatment and it needs to be left for 24hrs so I shall have to paint it tomorrow,

I have also fitted a new braided oil feed pipe too

Cleaned up engine block, gearbox of 19 years worth of dirt and grime

Got it to turn off with the key! 

 

Got rid of some nasty wiring too (ie: a 12v feed that came on with the ignition to the fuel pump... instead of letting the ECU do it).

This BH weekend...

 

• Took the carpets out and put the original rubber mats back in.


• Cleaned the red vinyl seats


• put the old (horrid, large) steering wheel back in


• de greased some of the engine


• tried to restore the roof paint


• changed the oil and filer


• cleaned the coil and surrounding cables
