Today I bought the car in my profile photo :D

"Tango" looks so lush. My brother went up to see it the day after you bought it. Fab colour. Hope it makes you smile

Just about to go out and re-seat the fuel line to the fuel filter - it worked itself loose, or wasn't fitted correctly and is dribbling petrol >.<

Well yesterday on a "spirited" drive I broke it... After a few nice corners the car felt awful on the road as if the rear tyres weren't holding themselves up and just flopping around. Under closer inspection it appears a front subframe mount has delaminated.

Managed to get a new one today so will be fitted tonight, not genuine but it gets me out of trouble :)

Prepped Clubby for his engine change today. Took the rad out, took the 7 port head off (this is for sale on Ebay) . Undid the steering arms and top ball joints to free the drive shafts and various other bits too. Just gotta disconnect all the steadies and engine mounts themselves and the old lump is ready to be craned out. He`s up on axle stands at the moment and wondering what`s going on. I`m picking his 1380 high spec engine up on Monday, he`ll like that.  :P

If it's a fresh build (new engine) make sure it's run in right :-)

I did it this way this time and so far it's been perfect - unlike my old MX5 that I did the old fashioned "keep it under 1500rpm for eternity" way :(

It is indeed a new build and I know that if you run in at a set rpm for the period when you do want open up a bit trouble may well set in. I was told once of a chap who had bought a hearse, tried to blast it down to Southend and because it had never done more than 20 before it blew up, big time, lol. Thanks for you advice, I never turn that down, you can`t buy experience at any price.

Removed headlights, rear lights, interior, carpet and factory installed rear speakers. Half way through removal of seat belts, tricky buggers!
