Carried on rebuilding engine with my 13 year old daughter I do all the messy stripping down and cleaning up and she bolts on all the new clean bits
She seems keen and loves using socket set especially toque wrench not so keen on getting her fingers oily though and gets through latex gloves like no ones business

Today we bolted up crank and con rods after fitting new shells
Put timing gears back on and bolted up cover
Refitted water pump and fan
Refitted oil filter bracket and banjo
Refitted fuel pump

Awesome Steeley!!   My daughter (age 13) is also involved with our Mini restoration.  She was fascinated to hear about your daughter.

I've been rounding up excess parts in the shed to make some money back. I didn't realise how much stuff I had till I looked through! I found three extra cranks (in addition to the 4 "spare" ones) and I must have had 7 gearboxes in varying condition.

Having spent almost 2 week's of evenings of measuring, cutting, trimming, wiring and fitting a new dashboard, radio and front and rear speakers finally got it all fitted and working only to discover that the iPod integration unit that I kept from an old car won't work with the current iPhones. I'd even built a little phone shelf into the dashboard. :(
