Decided to remove my troublesome engine. Have a rebuilt metro with MD266 cam to drop in. YAY!

Fitted the new high torque starter motor to the van, starts like a dream now, however on the first drive about 50 metres up the road the throttle cable snapped!

Removed rear subframe. Took longer than I hoped but not too difficult in the end. Will probably replace with all new parts. Started poking screw driver around. Found holes :( I need a camera to insert into the sill now and see how it is in there.

Some planning now required.

Prepared my new engine for installation. stripped old engine to find disintegration of the cam lobes and followers, not to mention the state of the cam bearings. F**king butcher was the name of the last man inside my engine! On the up side, main and big ends are good, as is the bore, measures 1293cc.

Fitted an internal bonnet release, bit of a pain grinding the slam panel to fit the nylon guide in the bonnet lock, but other than that not too bad a job

Dialed in my 266 cam, refitted the timing cover. My new quickshift arrived so I did a little drolling.
