So on the list is greasing the ball joints and arms, cleaning under the car, hoovering the inside and giving it a polish

Finished putting me front arches on. They look quite good as long as you don`t get too close. Put the wheels back on and got it off the axle stands at last. Put the dizzy in and then turned my attention to the back end to start putting the fuel system in. Got knackered so went and had a bath.

Fitted the electronic fuel pump in the boot then ran a new fuel line up to the carb. Not looking forward to the electrical side of it as that`s not a strong point with me.

I started to look into why the car is lower on one side than the other at the front. It measured 25mm lower to the arch top! Then I realised the the LH front wheel sat a massive 35mm further back the the RH front. This is the first time in at least 30 years that I've worked on a Mini and the problem quickly became apparent - rubber subframe mounts. Only one of these is attached to both the shell and the subframe! No wonder the owner of the car found the handling unpredictable. Close inspection reveals engine steady bushes completely gone. Is anything holding this car together apart from gravity and luck?

Today, like yesterday, (in fact like every day for the last week) I've been working on the bodywork. I decided to enlist the help of a professional for the respray. I'm glad I did.
Its been a long, hard, and mainly boring week. I now know enough to do a competent job myself. I've also learnt that I'd rather not do it ever again!.
on the plus side- I seem to have lost all fingerprints, so I'm considering a life of crime for a while.
I'll be updating the (dormant) build thread over the next few days, hopefully that will lead me to the end of project.
I'm going for a soak in the bath now. Hopefully my bogies aren't british racing green any more..................

Yay - it stopped raining for once, so, front floor welded in (very happy with that job)... Outer Sill taken off and found holes in the rear floor!
Next Sunday is going to be taking my girls to the local 'fun' farm, as compensation for me working on the Mini all day
Need to be able to stop time to work on my Mini (garage would be handy too!)
