Started the de chroming, only done with a rattle can to make sure I liked it. Will get it powder coated soon

Fitted new standard rear suspension cones, new petrol filler seal and attempted to fit new tail light gaskets from mini speed before finding out they were sh£&e and refitting original slightly perished ones with sealant. Adjusted ride height all round to get more suspension travel. Done some rustproofing and given him a coat of wax. Been quite a long day!

Sorted out the problematic indicators, fitted a new indicator stalk and wished I could get 4 kids car seats in it with both me and the wife so I could use it more often! But tomorrow I will be waxing her to make up for it.

For the first time in years I've done some work on my mini. Today was exploratory work to see what bits it needs, I've not driven it for 6 years so it needs a few bits.

 

I knew the front end was in a bad way before I started but I managed to push the screw driver though quite a few places a screwdriver shouldn't be able to go. It's booked in for a lot of welding in a couple of months so I'm not too worried. 

 

This afternoon I've spent quite a bit of time on mini spares and mini sport putting together some orders together. There should be two quite sizeable boxes arriving soon.

took the rad out today and flushed it through, started the full clean and polish and trying to un-gum the carb...

I wish it was the wife but she's in hospital with our newborn who isn't well.

Ah well maybe when all is well she will get some attention paid to her.

My nephew lives just round the corner from there who also has a Mini, his is white with a chequered roof and rusty headlight rings.... you might have seen it maybe...?
