Put a coat of Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 on the underside of the rear panel.
Was left untreated by the previous owner, so decided to see how good this stuff is.

rear radius's off, front hubs off, hilos ordered, new cones and associated rubber bumpstops etc, front bearings pressed

Finally got round to a bit of post L2B cleaning

Fitted Mini Sport Grill buttons (quite easy really!) and my AA badge. Both Presents, one from the Missus and one from my mate! Today, grill side trims to rivet on!

straighten the reg plate and exhaust up took the silver plates off and put the tinted ones on.



looked at the exhaust gasket.

Figured out you can't fit a centre exit exhaust with a towbar too..... its just too low....

 

 

 

On my other car (Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6), I rebuilt the heads, replaced radiator, replaced headgaskets, changed headbolts, changed cams, changed exhaust headers, removed AC pump and removed SAI system..... started first turn of key :)

Fitted the expansion tank under the front wing... after scratching my head wondering how it fitted ! fitted the charcoal canister thingy as well... torqued up the front suspension components.... but then  couldn't remember if I had torqued the domed swivel arm nuts down when I rebuilt them..... I am sure I did at the time..... but did I??? drove it up and down the drive ... if I get my finger out I should have it back on the road soon... I might tackle the headlining tomorrow !

Today I looked longingly again at the faithful old beast, which due to illness (mine not it's!) has been sat sadly outside my kitchen door for a few years now, leafed through the haynes manual, ordered some bits to repair the welder, and resolved to bring it back to life!

Took the engine out, without too much fuss, thank goodness I gave everything a copious amount of grease the last time i had it out! Feeling pleased!

Found some rust in a really hard place to get to and fix and made up some colourful language in the process

Fitted reverse lamp and started retrimming door cards

Fitted blue led strip lights to the interior, wired them into the door switch.
