Been doing the surfacing on the re-skinned doors for the 1964 850. Going to get a few coats of ultra-high-build primer on tomorrow.

Ran out of gas (only took 6 years) two welds before the end of finishing a damper bracket

Had a go at fancy flux wire gas less welding - oh dear!

Will use my brothers tig welder tomorrow.

Installed new dizzy, painted my grill matte black, looks mean

Bought my mini in March. 1975 850. Hasn't been on the road for 12 years.

Took it for MOT today to see what is needed and it passed!!!

All I have done since buying is service and adjust the brakes.

Historic tax applied with and £16 to add to my multi car policy. Over the moon!

Get some miles on it now, loads to do but great that it is usable!

fitted hi los and replaced every single bush on the front suspensions

Opened the packet containing an Innocenti dash and bought a MGB fuel gauge to fit it.

Removed flywheel -amazingly without losing skin from knuckles!

Painted my damper mounts with an old tin of hamerite - the old stuff is way better than that environmentally friendly stuff that they sell now! 😷

One coat instead of eight!

Finally got part of the body in primer with no issues

Stripped the engine bay ground off the rust and red oxide painted,
Labelled and removed the wiring looms,

Made a start on removing the engine out of the subframe, failed at the gear linkage pin, swore, bashed my fingers with the hammer, swore again. sawed the linkage off

Another day, another ******* issue. Dunno whether to put the standard damper back, not impressed by this MED component..

Purchased another one...

Split the gearbox from the block, freed up the front brakes and cleaned up the discs, whilst swearing at intermittent rain!
