Fitted new stereo head unit as the last one stopped working (10 year old Pioneer tat fitted by previous owner).

I wanted a retro (90s) looking head unit but with modern features- Bluetooth streaming was a must.

After much online browsing, I decided on a Blaupunkt Stockholm unit - £172 from Amazon.

Looks spot on.

Then took a look at the component speakers on the rear parcel shelf. Previous owner had fitted them in an odd position (tweeters in the middle about 4” apart) and wired up incorrectly (speaker cable going to the midrange & then the crossover resistor was wired up downstream of the midrange).

So removed speakers & shelf and now deciding on some upgrades & correct position.

On my 1275 I put a pair of tweeters where the dashboard vents should be. (welded the holes in flitch and deleted fresh air inlets)

Took advantage of the nice warm summer weather to give the mini a thorough wash and a full wax.

A great day on the club stand with TMF at Stanford Hall today. Just before the dreaded rain made an appearance!

Noticed a slight leak via both bottom corners of the front windscreen yesterday. I left Stanford before most of the rain poured down, however, I did catch the start of it on the journey back.

Sealed both sections neatly with windsceen sealent today.

Had to go to Kamloops, a 2 hour drive for a dental appointment at 8AM. We stayed 2 nights in a hotel as we also had to get items which we can't get in our small town. Kamloops has the equivalents of B&Q, Tescos, Halfords etc. We then went onto 100 Mile House which is 2 hour drive from kamloops to a Credit Union appointment. Then drove the 2 hours home. here are some pics.

Honestly that is only 1 parking space I parked in the middle so no idiot would try to squeeze in and hit my Mini.

Fitted new bottom arm and tie rod bushes. Tried polybushes this time because the rubber ones perished within 18 months. At some point in the near future I have re-con radius arms to fit when I find enough enthusiasm.
