Just finished building sons new +60 motor
Fitted some straight cut drop gears had a right job getting the old input gear off.
Now to fit and set up.

Following a breakdown earlier in the week due to a sudden failure of the ignition coil I fitted a new Viper coil and ignition lead set which resolved the problem.

Spent a morning taking the turbo in and out trying to route breathers looms pipework and hoses past the bloody servo.

Moved the solenoid. Moved the loom to behind the dash rather than the engine bay. Fitted the coil pack

After buying my MPi last month I have been chasing a high idle. 
 

this week I stumped up and bought the alloy throttle body and new rubber hoses, along with new injector and idle air control valve it’s now idling in the exact range it should.

Did some dashpot oil testing on the Mrs mini, 1st off 3in1, Nah didn't like that, 2nd 5w30 a bit better but, 3rd 10w40 an improvement, 20w50 he shoots he scores.

Dropped the Mini off to Ben on the Isle of Wight for some paintwork repairs, I will post some pictures when I get it back.

Scratching my eyes out seeing the fuel prices in general, and for E5 when I fuelled up today in the mini! 

 

MOT booked for a few weeks, will continue more checkovers tomorrow and go from there.

It is 10p a litre cheaper for E5 than diesel where I am in the UK πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ be running the mini as a daily driver
