I think the 998 option would be a viable one, I think I read someone on this thread that he had an extra in the garage?

I think a mini specialist insurer would damage ya too much for putting a 998 in. Or even a 1275.

A mini specialist would damage you much less for an engine swap compared to a mainstream insurance company. worth getting quotes , Lund.

Why not source another 850 engine, mate? Or have you had enough of it? Perhaps a small upgrade to a 998 would be a viable option?

Hi guys thanks for all the feedback. I havent thought to check this thread recently, sorry! She seems to be running fine, I have finally managed to get her to a reasonable state of tune, but we wont speak too soon! I bought some Autosol and started buffing up all of the chrome and alloy, she looks really well for it, its great stuff. I'm hoping to start an engine build in the new year, thinkI may have located myself a nice 1275 - if so, I'll build it all up to my own specifications and believe it or not, insurance is being kind!

Hi all, Hope you all had a good christmas - thank you for all of the compliments!
I went outside to the mini this morning to change my dashpot oil (regular job)

I gave the SLR abit of a fiddle and took these very frosty this morning!







...As for the engine build

mine would be looking like that if it wasnt in the garage. i could belive the amount of grit on the roads last night the mini didnt like that.

Finally aquired the engines, so I can begin cracking on with the engine build. Will be building up a 1275. It apparently already has a fast road cam in, but we'll see!
