What engine spec is that for then?

Just wondering, as I still need to get a suitable needle to get mine running properly.

998 + 40
sw5 cam
lightend fly wheel
lighted clutch back plate
12g940 head
Pocketed block
flat top pistons (i think) if not dished
Hs4 carb to start with or HIF 38

then might bump up to twins :P

gear box is just a standard 998 with 3.444 final drive :) and center oil pick up

And your doing all that for £350-£400? Id triple it mate!
What year is your car. Because if you have a verto clutch you will need to change the clutch to pre-verto in order to lighten it properly as you cant make any worthwhile gain on a verto type.
A fullly lightened flywheel and clutch assembly for a pre-verto is £680 from Swifty from memory and the sw5-07 duplex kit is about £220. You need the duplex kit else theres no point fitting the cam if your not going to time it properly. And 1.3 roller rockers are about £200 so thats over a grand without headwork, final drive, gearbox and replacing the clutch -.-

70 ponies sounds good for that spec :) Wonder what ill get with twin HS2's and a trackday cam :P

I dont mean to put a downer on things mate but I doubt 70bhp is achievable with an sw5, more like 60bhp. Your more likely to get a torquey motor with that spec, which to be honest is what you want.

Yeah you might get 70 if you are starting with a good engine but you will be lucky. A 276 would give you this power.

Even with the pre-verto youve got double your budget for a full lightened clutch and flywheel assemby £680

It's all about the local. Martin is doing my Turbo build.

Rebore, drilled for 11 studs, prepped for dry decking plus the rest of my head work, crank work and con rod work.
He'll be doing my gear box and diff too. Well, hopefully, I will just have to give him loads of money!

Indeed he is, he's got some good stuff down at Martin's place at the moment.

I'm going to have to give Rick a run down the strip once we're both built!
