:D That damage to the roof is pretty serious, has the person that gave you the quote seen the damage?

And I doubt that you will get labour and panels for under £500! ;)

Also a lot of work in the rear panel and roof, front wing seems pretty repairable.

I bet they end up knocking the rear panel and filling it, which is probably the best way to go as the panel is accessible from both sides to allow panel beating.

How much is the roof panel repair likely to cost compared to that of a non- electrical webasto sunroof ? ? ?

well, the roof is the only thing i am worried about to be honest. the rest of the car can be repaired. the roof idealy needs a new skin, but the work involved would just cost too much! the guy who sprayed my mini in the first place knows a good dent man, but i may get a seperate guy out to see what he can do.

if he does condone it then i might think about asking smudger making me up a white carbon roof skin. maybe

would it be poossible to get the dent bashed out as much as possibl and then just stick a carbon rook on top to hid ethe worst of the dent if it wasn't completly repairable?

Gutted for you.

But from looking at it, there is no need for panel replacment. The wing looks a simple repair, the quarter too, it can be beat out from behind.

The roofs tricky cause of the headlining obviously. But any good bodyshop has a pin puller which will pull most the roof damage out and make it repairable.

Good luck, hope it gets all sorted. Looks to be a mega build.

what headlining? oh that thing i chucked in the bin when i started stripping the interior! might have a problem with the cage, but i can remove that if needed. got a ex-pro dent guy round today, said it would be abit of a bugger but the roof is repairable. the bodyshop i am getting the repairs done by have been told to use as little filler on the roof as possible, hence the quote above. i have been comfort buying today, from minispares, with my 5% discount. i let you all guess what it is till they arrive.

i'm just trying to find how to fit everything under a round nose! (its out of harms way for now) think i have sorted it now though, will get pics up later but for now i've put the oil cooler under the alternator, and i'm putting an intercooler on the brace bar.

you can have it back, when its bin run into the ground! no i'll look after it, only going to run an a-series based engine for about a year or two then will be looking for more reliable power without breaking the bank!

Thats bad luck with the damage but a great project.

House insurance has a section for third party property damage much like car insurance.Your neighbour is responsible for maintaining the property and he will probably calim for his roof due to storm damage, you have the right to claim from him too as part of that storm damage

christ mate! been of the net for a while and came straight on and checked this!

That would have made me cry!!!

Good luck with getting it sorted, not being funny but i would be straight around thier place with a bill showing them what they should be paying! Even if they only pay half.

thats what i might do, go round show them how much its going to cost to get fixed, and expect them to pay half. its not worth taking it any futher.

as mentioned a few pages ago i am removing the laquer from my alloys (thanks to those great people at mw) i've left this wheel for a while, an this is what peeling laquer looks like. this wheel though has been rectified.

right now to what i bought, well, i'll let the pictures do the talking

but before i fitted these, i had to do some brake pipe repairs, namely the rusty front subframe one, and the rear servo one to the splitter. the second one was only made to allow more room if i need to pass a intercooler hose through.

they are the minispare alloy calipers, just a quick note about the colour, they didn't have gold in stock so this was my second choice. in all for the whole setup (drive flanges, vented discs, calipers, ebc pads, braided hoses, and caliper spacers) it was something like £430, with my 5% discount of course.

abit more progress, just for you t@z, when the oil cooler is going. there really is no where else to put it!

Posted Image

finnaly decieded on a place for my intercooler, right on my brace bar. just a note the one recieved from t@z was damaged in transit so this one was my mate old 200sx one, who now has a huge front mounted intercooler! how i secured it to the bar, i will be making a stone sheild for this to prevent debris hitting it!

Posted Image

it is different to most intercoolers it that you bolt the elbows to it. i am using one of these but i am custom making the other.

Posted Image

certianly is snug in there!

Posted Image

it is away from any heat here aswell. plus when i take this to any track days i can remove the light and have an instant cold air feed!

Posted Image

and this pic shows how one pipe will travel to it, and the other goes by the resivoir, behind the rocker cover.
