Mite sound daft, but where did you get that power outlet cover from?! I've been scouring for ages to get one, e had one in our old chrysler and I want one to put on my fag lighter in the mini, to look abit neater.

Looks awsome thou matey! Really does.

my other seat finnaly arrived! but not all was fine and dandy. it appeared that the subframe they sent me was the wrong type, as it was completely different compared to my other subframe looked almost universal. so a quick call later and it turns out this is the only subfrmae corbeau do now. it fits, but it just doesn't seem right. it will do for now, but i might see about getting a earlier one sometime in the future.

so its almost finished, and the an electrical problem springs up! heard a pop when i was checking over all my electrics, i thought my hazard flasher had gone as my hazards no longer work. so bought a new flasher unit but they still don't work. also when using my indicators on the internal flasher unit worked whereas the external one used to click instead. i also noted that my interior light doesn't work, its not the bulb, as the fillament is fine. it seem that the power for the light is also shared by the external flasher unit. i've checked all the fuses and they are fine, so it looks like i'll be bringing my multimeter back home to investigate!

solved my electrical problem, i didn't check all the fuses. there are some in-line ones in the original loom, when my flasher unit went it must have taken the fuse with it! all electrics are now sound-ish.got plenty of spare fuses just incase. insurance has been taken out, rac cover is renewed. got it booked for an mot next sat and a rolling road tune the following tuesday.

i want to drive it now!!

sailed through the mot, just adjusted the emissions so she would pass. i've taken her for a drive 2 times so far, and i can feel every bump in the road! don't really want to use it till it has been setup properly, so i've booked a rolling road session for tuesday. i'll get some more photos up by next weekend!

also just found out my diaphram in thy dump valve has gone. so i've just got turbo chatter instead!

cheers! i don't really consider it a show car to be honest. i'll take it to a few shows but i'm not expecting anything big! it's probabily 75% complete, but ready for the road none the less. i do have a small list of things to buy while its otr

central locking kit
tub the rear arches (just been looking at the scuff marks on the rear arches, its tight!)
possibly a different set of wheels
and want another engine in 1-2 years (possibly vtec, but anything that'll touch 200hp reliably wil do)

maybe a few smaller bits as well which i can't think of right now.

also along with the problems you find when first taking it out on the road, my selector shaft is leaking, not severly but its needs sorting. so more bits are on order...........

an eventfull day today. took the mini down to mikeanics in congleton (rolling road). got there for around half one. watched for half an hour or so then went for some grub to let him get on with it. overall results were 105 bananas and 110 curly whirlys! its only running 5-6 psi of boost i think he said, this is due to an unknown compression ratio, which i will work out soon. also i could get a few more horses out if it if i ran bp8es plugs but i not bothered right now. also it appears i'm not running a standard dizzy, so he had to strip mine and alter it. i'm am more than happy with this though, as on the road it pulls really well. i'll take a picture of my graphs, but for now this wee pic will have to do.

i can reccomend him to anyone whether its a turbo mini or not, great guy. also along with the faults you find when first driving, i've got a knock noise from the top engine mount, the exhaust rubs on the body right by your feet, and the rear suspension is scraping the rear arches. other than that its sweet!

also speedo stoped working

heya mate, the dizzy was purchased new from avonbar, i beleive it to be a turbo dizzy unless it was modded to suit a certain set up which they didn't tell me.....

that being said ofc i think W&P did have some issues with the dizzy and getting it in correctly so i hope they didn't change it without me knowing to quick fix things. i did have many issues with them about the quality of work done on my car so i'm not gonna rule this option out.
