Well at long last i have come to the end of my rebuild. I have finished up with a system that is totally different to the way i pictured it at the beginning. I am now the proud owner of a mini with a 4 way, active system, that i think sounds awesome.

2 Gauage cable in the boot, running through a 200amp fuse

Posted Image

Home made amp rack on a sliding bed, carrying my 2 JL 600/4 amps, protected by 80amp fuses, distribution blocks for power and earth and 2 spare 80amp fuses

Posted Image

My front end, complete with new door cards, slightly moved speaker position in dash, centre consul with aircraft type kill switches

Posted Image

And lastly my 2 10" DLS subs in their purpose built boxes in the rear bins

Thanks for all the interest and the helpful comments along the way

Honestly this are great pics but they still don't do the install justice.

It's great work Les has done to build a system of this level AND the car retains the FULL use of the boot AND two people can ( just) still sit in the back seat!!!

The stealth installed active fan cooled amps are my favourite touch.
But it's all very well done.

And belive me it sounds amazing AND it will get better in time.

Edit: PS Les bolt down the headunit and those door pods ;) lol

Les - Looks great, can't wait to hear it at one of the shows. Are you going to L2B or SMD '12?

Well, after all my winter changes and lots of help from Ruckus (Joe), my new system was finally tested at SMD at bewl water this weekend and even if i say so myself it was a complete sucess. The car won best overall install with 91 points out of 120, also got best SQ with 28 out of 30 and 132.3db. To say i am well pleased is an understatement, cheers for all your help Joe. Now i can rename my car SQ Blue. But what changes can i now make to improve it ?????????????

Feel the need for a fiddle with my system, what to do though to raise the standard. Will it need a new thread for SQ BLUE

One thing you could do for asthetics is run some hidden thin wire & mount some small LED's, blue of course ;), underneath your speaker covers. The front speakers having silver cones would reflect it & be high lighted quite well. They could be held in place with a little dap of hot glue. You could do the same under the sub grilles too.

If you're still running the Infinity Kappa's then maybe going up to a Focal or Hertz set would make improvements? I guess it all depends on how much you want to improve & deep your pockets are.

What would you recommend Joe?

This weekend will see the start of my system strip out, then moved around, tweeked and refitted. Might just have to start a new thread
