Spot the problem
Yehhh, sorry about that. I should have checked the condition of your engine mounts before trying to jack the car up on the sump haha

Artstu - ... on the micra forum too?
I'm working on the driveway - Did look into renting a lock up but they are either too far away or too expensive! At least with the mini on the drive i can nip out and do odd bits and bobs. There are some garages near us but they have no electricity
Maybe could get a group to rent a lock up together?
Im exhausted - Today i have almost undone the rear subframe, removed both rear dampers, emptied and removed the fuel tank, cut the brake line at the back, scraped some of the left over bitumen off the floors.
Fitted the air box to the micra - it sounds like a right beast now!
Aaannnd started stripping out the air con from the micra :)
Will get jackpants to take a few photos of my progress (No batteries in my camera at the mo!)

Ahh i see, well it may have been the fact that the engine steadies and exhaust were not attached. (Ive managed to jack my car up on the engine in the past ok)
Also, i didnt get any update photos. Sorry thread followers :/

This can work really well with the right group of people. I rent a lock-up up in Norfolk (where I started my mini resto back in 2001 - my 205gti lives there now) and it used to be me and a bunch of guys who all worked together at Lotus. We all had our projects in there and for a few years pretty much every night there'd be someone down the workshop. It was a really sociable setup - I liked it, everyone getting involved with each other projects and helping out when needed. Unfortunately situations change and as people moved away the arrangement changed and the "feel" of the place has never been the same since.
Be interesting to see if there's enough local interest to rent a lockup and share the space.....

Sod it, the rear subby is being cut off at the weekend. the bolts are stuck and not coming out. its the four in the boot floor so i guess if i shave the tops off them they will fall through?
Thought i was working this weekend but im not.. Score!
I need motivation, Barping around in the micra is becoming too comfortable - dare i say putting me off going back to the mini..

Keep the Micra, they're just like a bigger Mini. Then take your time with Nelly, She's in need of a LOT of work by the look of it.

Oh she needs a lot of work haha. although not as much as some people would put into her.. shes going to be rough and ready.. hence not really caring about the overspray on windows / over seals. As long as parts are suitably protected i couldnt give a poop what colour they end up!
I'm having a lot of fun with this project, already been in hospital once because of it! .. now, wheres that angle grinder...

Well in that case, things should be a lot easier, my trouble is that I'm too fussy so things don't get finished.
Oh and be careful with that angle grinder

Done some indoors bits today as its raining
Cleaned various bits up and started sorting through the old parts to keep what i need
Not sure if il need this :
Oh, and clutch cleaner takes paint off very easily :
I was considering leaving the passenger wing on as it looked ok. Well i was wrong, its not sealed to the scuttle at all so has started to rot in there, Plus i discovered the A panel was held on with a single self tapper (pointed out with the screwdriver)
And filler, Who puts filler here?!

Jackpants came over and removed the last bolts in the boot floor to remove the rear subby.. Im glad its off, its rotten!
Thank fully the heelboard isnt that bad, caught it in time!
I was going to sell the old subby but i dont feel it would be safe to, Once ive got pics you will see why.
Progress might be slow soon as im not too well at the mo
