well had a go at the upper tie bar bushes today (upper engine steady)

wish i had left it though!  half a job because the bulkhead bolt is screwed!

I vented my frustration on the bulkhead soundproofing and am please to report that all is solid apart from the brake master cylinder plate and the bolt head that goes through it for the steady!!

this was the engine end bush:

need a new one of these as well:

going to be doing some more work on the car soon, I fitted new bonnet hinges last weekend which took about 4 hours and broke my wiper bracket, so I am ordering a new wiper bracket, got some degreaser as well, so going to clean the engine bay out, change the manifold gasket and fuel pump gaskets, looking at servicing the carb... also picked up a dash which I am going to recover when I pimp the interior properly.....
found a good tutorial on how to do diamond quilt door cards.

what else was there... picked up some spots that I may put on, also have collected an array of different interior handles of which I am looking to do something different with I hope! will hopefully have some traction there in the next month.

Looking good, I just 'found' your thread, so I'll keep watching it :proud:

Seems a solid little car.

What colour were you thinking of? The panels look incredibly straight already, should be fairly easy to 'prep'

Hazards working yet? ;D

Thank you Chop!

oh yes, hazards are now working a treat! I use them to say thank you all the time just because they work lol!

only really really bad panel is the drivers door. most of the bits that were bubbling have been sanded smoothed jenolite and zinc and red primed :-)

going to stick with the flame red I think dont think I will get away with inside and outside for favors, picked up some spots yesterday off someone for a few bucks going to wire them into the dim dip relay, getting some stainless steel server rack brackets from work to fabricate some mounts for them and should be ready to bolt them on :-)

Looking at getting some white acrylic cut out and sanded down to make the door cards and then turning my hand to make black quilted leather upholstery...... that seems like a dream away at the moment though. I've only just fixed the sowing machine and the wife wont let me touch it seeing as i was the one who broke it.

Like the idea of the quilted leather panels..... should be reasonably easy to sort out... Are you going leather, or leatherette (vinyl) 'because thats LOADS cheaper and looks pretty similar?

I'd recommend quilted recycled hessian coffee sacks and beer bottle top buttons..... but someone's already done that ;D

I usually splice into the main beam wiring loom and use a seperate relay for the spots :proud:

good idea, was going to look at leatherette but then I keep seeing people getting rid of leather sofas on gumtree.... was gonna get one and strip it and tip it.
