Looking great mate, your doing a top job, I have inner sills like them on mine to do soon and have looked at a few repairs, yours looks like you have spotwelded yours to the underside of the floor, as I understand thats how the outer sills attach I thought the inner were ment to be butt welded...
I only enquire as itlooks easyer and would save time as long as mr mot man dont say FAILgo fix haha
but everything else looks mint ive just read this whole thread from start to finish and am amazed..

Hi Dave,
Thankyou for your kind words, comments like this do honestly keep me at it and make me want to go out at stupid O'clock and start hammering and banging
.
The Innersill I've made and welded in isn't spot welded in, unfortunately I don't have the £400 arms required to reach that far into the floor pan.
Instead I've puched out some holes and Plug Welded the innersill to the floor, this is done by overlapping the floor and sill by about 15-20mm.
The issue, as you will understand when overlapping things is the obviously "Bulge" that is created, so I have a pair of Jogglers which allow me to effectively crease the edge of the innersill down so it sits flush with the floor pan whilst still allowing me to plug weld it in.
And lastly as a reinforcement to the plug welds and overlap, I've pulse welded every so often along the way to create a even stronger join.
The MOT won't be an issue with this form of repair, aslong as there isn't any rot in the shell then the MOT man can't judge a persons methods of repair.
I was speaking to an MOT tester I know personaly, and believe it or not, you could cut a ruddy great big hole in your floor pan and it'd technicaly still pass, so long as it's not a rust/rot hole or within 12" of a critical mounting or suspension point it's fine.
I must also add that this isn't my method, I've seen it done previously in one of Neils threads and approved of the method.
Thanks again Dave :)
Hi cliff..... I have got the same from autocrash matey... I've offered them up and to be honest they don't look a mile off.... They seem quite a decent thickness too
Cheers james
Ahh hopefully I've gotten a similar batch then J, if not it's easy fixed with a Grinder ;).
Going to strip the coating of and Zinc prime the panels today as the weather isn't going to allow me to even consider un-covering the mini.
Cheers,
Cliff
