Hi Folks,

I've been quite busy recently and having secured an Apprenticeship i'm completely chuffed as punch over, I won't be updating any of my threads as dramatically progress wise as I have done upto now.

Today I've been grinding mostly and filling any areas which needed to be welded or little bits of material added/taken off.

I've come up to the stage of dressing the welds on the rear quarter as I've welded the fillet piece in and finished off the fabfication of the quarter repair I made which I should have put pictures up of before (maybe a couple pages back).

Picture time!:

Oh and I also gave the paint a bit of T-cut to see whether or not I could get away with just doing part of the quarter and blending it in, I took some close-up shots of some areas I wasn't happy with and which returned my mind back to just redoing the whole lot.

Were the new Doorstep panel meets the A & B-posts and curves up, the curve wasn't there for whatever reason, so I've started to build it up with weld and little tiny repair pieces, the A-post bottom curve I've pictured but haven't done yet:

Next up is the A-panel, I've whipped them both over with Thinners and will be sanding and spraying in Zinc as soon as possible due to obvious reasons, but first, one the one fitted I must do some work with, I've cut the wing joining flange off and will be plug welding it to the wing flange and then creating and fitting a thin long piece to bridge the gap by seam welding in.

That's all for now, thanks for looking,

Cliff

Hi mate, I'd probably paint the whole quarter to be honest.... There's enough lines on a mini to mask upto , be easier to whip the side window out aswell.....

Coming along well mate.... Just think of all the money you can spend on a mini once pay day starts arriving......:0)

Cheers j

Yeah it's going to be a beauty, got a Corsair (obviously ;) ) case and a few other bits, not going to be buying the internals anytime soon though, waiting for newer updates on the current products you know, plus I want to build money up first a bit so I can go ahead and do the build in one go.

Last thing I want to be doing is buying a £600 Graphics card and then finding it's not the best you can get, or it's cheaper 2 months down the line.

Congratulations on the apprenticeship Cliffey.

Cheers Ben, much appreciated :)

It's an Engineering Apprenticeship, under the unit name of Mechanical Engineering, but as my now bosses have told me there will be training me even after this apprenticeship to become a fully qualified Engineer to be multi skilled and able to operate all they have (which is....quite a lot of bug "Toys" :D ).

I think, judging by the company prospects and security, as well as the management teams down to earth outlook towards someone new like me coming in, I think it's a company I'll be with for many years to come.

Congratulations on the apprenticeship Cliffey.
