Not sure on this, never done any work with the flywheel end.

No pistons move.
Forget the flywheel for the moment if the engine won't turn over with a spanner on the front pulley bolt it needs pulling apart it find out what the problem is
I will drop the gearbox off soon to check the crank.

I'd be having the clutch and flywheel off which you need to do anyway to get the box off and see why the flywheels turning but nothing at the other end like the crank pulley, if its all good there then when the box comes off something will be obvious.

Well turn of events!
I brimmed the engine with oil at the weekend with hope that it was a little dry. Looks like it was very dry.
Plucked up the guts to use a 5ft bar for more leverage on the crank nut and thank god it didn't snap the bolt! movement came back slowly.
Eventually the flywheel started to move with the crank, although i did find that if i move the flywheel it still doesn't move the crank pulley. Would this mean the flywheel keyway is broken?
All 4 pistons move by the way
Thanks for all the help so far guys.

Your flywheel isn't connected to the crank properly. You need to remove the flywheel cover and flywheel and investigate whats going on.
The flywheel sits on a taper as well as having a keyway plate like so: http://www.minispare...gs/DAM5923.aspx
Id still be worried if the engine took that much force to turn over. Has it been standing a long time?

It has been stood for maybe 4 months without any oil, thats why i filled it up in the hope it would lube it up.
Just need to get a decent flywheel puller now, whats decent?

I can turn the engine with a large ratchet now, the bar just got it started, slight rust somewhere?
