Wonderful restoration.. would love to see more of the project if available.  I'm following with anxious interest to see if you post more work.  Would love to fly over to England on my Holiday solely to help one of you guys out.  Of course learn in the process.

Thanks for the reply your welcome to come over and earn your keep on my mini. Its going to need plenty of sanding.

Finally got round to doing some more work on the mini. The
passenger wing wasn't sitting right with the A panel and I couldn't think how to fix it so had left it for a while. My interest has been renewed lately and I have been doing lots more work on it lately.

I cut along the A panel to allow it to meet the wing without pulling the wing out of shape

Looks ugly at the minute but I will be trying my hand at lead filling and I'm confident I can make it look right.

Got the boot floor repaired Just waiting on a battery box. Then just the the inner wheel arch and lower dash panel that needs welding.

Tried my hand at some lead filling this weekend. Pretty happy with the results.
I made a small repair on the door step with I was going to use normal body filler I think this is a much better repair.

I Then applied the flux paint tinned the panel and then melted the lead into the space.

I didn't have a rasp to remove the excess lead so I pulled the handle off of a metal file and used that. And then sanded smooth using sandpaper.

There is a little bit of material to remove on the drainage point but otherwise I am very happy with the result.

They are a bit big to be honest. But it is something I hope to sort out. The passenger side is about right at the top and bottom but the curve of the A-panel means it has a larger gap in the middle???

That looks a great colour I'm still not sure on colour yet. Still got plenty of finishing to do before I am ready to even prime it lol.

My new door hinges arrived yesterday and I got the door bolted on today. With some shims and brute force I got the doors fitting pretty good. There is a little bit of fetaling to do to get them perfect but a lot less than I expected. Drives side is looking really good.20141230_203235_zpsnubr6lh0.jpg

The passenger side needs some work but it's not to bad and thanks to sonikk4 and his great thread about panel gaps http://www.theminifo...nnet-boot-gaps/ I am confident about getting them right.
Here's the passenger door

Worked in passenger side door gap today. Happy with what I got done. Will have a go at the driver side tomorrow.20150104_141340_zpsbmhhvu91.jpg
Started by running a bead of weld down the A panel.20150104_172724_zpsdh8nc8zu.jpg
Ground back the weld, wasn't happy with the gap so repeated welding and grinding.
20150104_201526_zpsdnngcr0e.jpg
20150104_202054_zpstajmdc4t.jpg
I drop some lead filler into the weld on the A panel to tidy it up a bit. Will still need body filler to finish it but the gap is good.
