Long awaited update.
My mini is in many peices and has fallen over and my missus bought a mini 35 :)
Here is what i have done over the last few month.
Pictures: (lots and lots)
not so good. Rear subframe out and spotted this lol.
First attempt at welding. Making some support struts for the mini when the floor is cut out.
Dad bought me a welder for my birthday
Second attempt with the welder set better.
Brace in place for floor removal.
Car is looking quite empty :)
Time to start cutting bits out. and make a list of bits i need to buy.
This is how it was set up
Then my mini fell over ;)
Kept getting in the way so i cut it off. was going to do a flip front anyway.
This this happened
Had to weld an extra bit on because it was rusted out
Welding is getting better
Nearly cleaned up
Girlfriend bought a Mini 35 1275 Carb.
Has a little hole
Patched up :)
Mini show in Gillford. Had a lovely run down some bumpy roads trying not to get lost to the BBQ.
I fort it might over heat on the way down as it was 220 miles but cruised along with no problems :)

you have the same welder as me.
Looks like you need to work a little slower to get some good penetration on your welds
Good going though!

Had a little fun with my daliy........made a roof rack spoiler. The differnce it makes is amazing, you cant even hear that they are on the roof.

Did you convert your Snap-Mig to euro torch?
I did indeed. So much better feed and cost nearly the same as what it would of cost to repair the old trigger.

Which kit did you use?
And was it straightforward to do the conversion?
I have the same welder and have been considering it for a while now but am going on the ethos of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but really want to do it

I got my kit from eBay not the best place I know but came with good institutions and was quite easy to fit to be honest.
This is what I bought, and from same seller. 301549207748
