Hello,

 

I've bought a car recently with an Ivor Searle 1380 engine but he hasn't used it much in 5 years so I'm going to do a full service.  What are the best spark plugs to get?

Depends on the engine spec gpod start are ngk bp7es

I'd say BP6ES is where I'd start.. or use BPR6ES if using electronic ignition.

 

The BP7ES/BPR7ES may be beneficial if running a particularly high compression ratio.

I'd start with a BRP7ES and work back rather than run the possibility of burning the electrode off when you run it under constant hard load.

Use the BPR's if you don't already have supressor leads (or resistor plug caps) fitted.
