Oh look it's a typost! (ie post full of typos) :D

Roof racks are wiiiiiiiicked :dontgetit:

It's currently black, I haven't actually tried it on the car yet to see how it looks but assuming it looks ok (it was free so if I don't like it there's no loss!) I hope to paint it a kind of creamy white (matching my seats) and maybe put some wooden slats on it (it's just a metal frame one) and I have another thought too :!: but I'm undecided yet so I won't divulge :D

I did get Minty a present - just because I didn't pay for it, doesn't mean it's not a present!

Well, yesterday was a very productive Mini day so felt I should continue the trend today.....

Was going to remove my black (grey :teehee: ) number plate light housing and paint it to match the car....

Undid the 3 screws inside the boot (which were alarmingly loose lol) so the housing is no longer attached to the car but for the wiring. So all I had to do was undo the screws on the glass light covers and remove the light units thus leaving me with the bit I wanted to paint :gimme:

Easy........

THINK AGAIN! :D

The screws look to be rusted on :ermm: they are sufficiently tight that trying to undo them just meant I was stripping the cross off the screw head so I sprayed some WD40 on them and waited a bit (ok only 10 minutes) and I still can't move them at all.

Will waiting on the WD40 actually work (and if so how long?) or is there anything else that the wonderous TMF users can suggest to help me get the screws undone?

spray with wd first, then tighten very slightly before attempting to undo. it releases the screw (or not or bolt) 9 times out of ten without snapping. or ask 1 of us if we have a spare one u can have! if you go the ace next month i will bring u a spare one i have.

That's a nice offer Fifi I hope I can do it before then I have to say, lol...

But if I can't get the old one off how would I get a new one on?

If I can remove the old one I will be able to do what I wanted to do but it's being awkward :D
