I don't really know... Screws would seem the most secure way  :o

I can't even offer the dash up to the rails properly at the moment because the clocks and vents are in the way so I can't see quite how much of a bee-hatch it's going to be to fit. I'm thinking it's going to be pretty bad though... :) Also need something green to put across the indicator holes in the dash otherwise they will shine white, and I'd quite like them the traditional green :dontgetit:

Unscrewing the mounting brackets from the body... Would that be via the screws somebody mentioned a page back which go through from the engine bay?

the top metal part that holds the bracket on is held onto the clock bracket by a couple o screws on the sides. if you undo these then the clocks and the small metal bit will come off and the main mounting bracket will stay attached to the car.

Yep, though I'm reluctant to say in case they changed them too. At least now the fascia is off can see what's what. I don't think those screws would have been up to supporting the weight of the clocks anywayz. You could make up some brackets to hold it on the MDF using the mounting screws on the side. I think you may need to extend the air vents, crinkly hose, to connect them to the dash anyway. You could buy some green warning lights and just use the lens bits stuck through from the front http://www.vehicle-w...rninglights.php

Failing that slice a 7up bottle O_O

Ooh, I might take the 7up route, tasty :ghost: hehe

And yes the air vents are too far back at the moment, I want them to come through the holes in the dash and sit flush. I was looking at them and could see that they should just twist and pull out, but they didn't want to twist, and I already broke one thing today so decided to leave it :)

Also need to think about attaching the dash to the car, it is going to need some forcing to stay in the right position as the MDF is flat but the dash rails are not  (as in, if the edges are against the dash rails the middle is not - needs pushing back). I have a horrible feeling one end of it is going to need a bit of sanding to sit flat - which would mean repainting it O_O But it's impossible to really tell at the moment as there are things in the way when I try to put it in place.

Thanks! My dad talked me out of covering it with vinyl, saying I'll probably do it wrong :D Haha so I painted it, and it still gives me the option at a later date to cover it if I want to :P

Having problems getting it in the car though, on account of the dials not wanting to detach from the dash rail :P

At least I have colour coded arches now! I will have to go for a photoshoot on a nice day this week and get some new pics

If you pull back the sound deadening in the engine bay you will find four nuts (7/16 i think?), remove these and the whole dial set up will come out, complete.

Easy peasy

:D
