I wonder, does that bonnet improve the breathing of the engine? Also very nice work so far :)

I will think so, the airstream goes right over the rocker cover and to the airfilter:)

Guess then it makes sense, if it will give some bonus performance that can only be a good thing. Though I would fit some kind of meshing or grille so that the shiny rocker cover and nice paint work don't get damaged :)

The heated intakemanifold was not connected to the coolant system, do it have to be connected, or could i just leave it that way? T2eC16VE9s2fBVHBRVQb8OzQ60_2_zps0j4rylcv

Removed brake and clutch cylinders and some other bits and pieces in the engine bay.. Next thing is to grind down everything and remove rust and get some nice paint on it:)

The engine bay looks pretty clean. Are you going with the body colour or something different?

Yes that is true and it will contrast well with the engine colour scheme

Hi, great looking mini and also great progress. BUT !!!! are you aware that it has cover sills fitted ?? if so you know the risks but if not your mini has in effect no drainage from the sill box section area and as far as i'm concerned cover sills have ended the life of many minis due to trapping moisture and advancing rust on the outer edge of the floors / inner sills / door steps / subframe mounts and rear bins. Get some waxoyl or something in there and soak it all inside if you're not changing them, but it is best to plan for them to be replaced asap.

I was not aware of that! Wow.. Gonna get my bodyshop guys to have a look at it, hope they are not to bad! Thanks for the warning! :)

Allmost done with rust removal in the engine bay.
