YES, the stickers say - Turn this (the Mini) into this (£2000) - ie. scrap the classic for a new one. Where's Anorak and Taffy to have a rant when you need them?
yes Ok, it's not the most sensitive thing BMW have done, but it's not the end of the world and I'm not going to cry about it

You've changed your tune since getting rid of your Minis.
Am I the only one who is fuming about this? There is a difference between a scrappage scheme existing and actually ENCOURAGING people to scrap their Minis.
Is anyone else going to complain to the company? Or have we all given up hope and sitting on our hands?

Far from it, I'm biting my nails because this topic has got me on edge with all the bickering
I'll drop them an email to let my voice known.
At the end of the day though anyone with a proper Mini will have heard of the scrappage scheme anyway and will have decided whether they want to trade it in for a new Mini, so I don't think it's particularly encouraging people to do it. Either the general public will laugh when they see the Mini up on the ramps or they'll hate the fact they've taken such a daring approach to it, hopefully the latter.

If that car was traded in under the scrappage scheme it, it looks worth more than £2k. If I were a devious car salesman, I'd give them £2k off a BINI and tell them "Its going for scrap" and then flog it out the back door for more.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading my views (if they have been read at all - I suspect you are too busy rubbing your hands before they are crossed with silver by the next half-blind moron with no taste) and remove the proper Mini from display and give it back to a loving home.

Why would anyone scrap a sportspack that looks in good condition?
it isnt a sportpack i dont think, as it is G reg, so it could be a racing flame, moded to look like a sportspack! a limited edition, even worse!
