To Be honest it doesnt really matter, a real mini is a real mini and somthing needs to be done, not that we can do anything at all to help. Unless as Bungle said the Magazines could stop competing against eachother and maybe work together to try and conduct some kind of plan, could have a posititve outcome ifan event was held to stop it and got alot of coverage? dont forget its not just the mini scene thats outraged about this issue.

All classic clubs need to get together on this one and maybe a massive roadblock in london in the cars might get their attention????

Bit extreme, thats likely to get alot of people arrested. But Maybe somthing could be organized like L2b, which obvious takes ALOT, but even if a few thousand classic cars turned up its more effective than not doing anything at all.

yes Ok, it's not the most sensitive thing BMW have done, but it's not the end of the world and I'm not going to cry about it

not really, but i have realised that moaning about BMW is absolutely pointless

But causing chaos will do nothing but get classic car clubs bad reputation. I think it would be best to go somewhere kind of out of the way, A Meeting at brands hatch would be perfect, Huge fields to park the cars at an event like this weekends, Mini Miglias and se7ens. Just Advertise it about on every classic car forum then all meet up and drive to another location in a big convoy through longfield etc, get the press involved. Just think that would work better than causing mayhem.

Obviously not weekend though thats too soon, but if we organized it for the next classic car festvial anywhere around the uk then post it on Mgb, Minor forums etc etc then it could be fairly effective?

You wouldn't get arrested for a rolling road blockade afterall, we all pay our road tax, why cant we all drive through London at the same time if we want?!

I'm not too confident it would work but like you say Craig the country is on its backside either way and I'd rather at least try get this small part of the big mess that is current affairs sorted out than sit back and moan about it but do nothing.

What did people do years ago in a recession? Sit on their backsides and moan about it and sod all else?

How could they arrest you for driving through London though? Wouldn't they have to prove you're breaking some sort of public order offence, if so, you're just driving amongst everyone else and can't speed up can you
