BMW Maidstone has one on display too!! >>_< Its an insult to the classic mini!! I'm saddened that they agreed to it. It just goes to show what classic mini owners always thought...... Binis are NOT minis, they are just cars and BMW do NOT care, and yet they wonder why they are not accepted into the mini world?!?!?

BMW MAIDSTONE, KENT HAS ONE ON DISPLAY TOOO!!! what the hell

PM ME, ID LIKE TO TRY AND ARRANGE SOME SORT OF CONVOY

HERES A PIC OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING, ITS NOT THE MAIDSTONE ONE THOUGH

i think people definatly have a right to moan about this, if you dont like the moanoing, go back a page and choose a different topic.

they shouldve thought about this before putting any car over 10 years potentially up for the slaughter.
i think there shouldve been a restriction on certain classics from being allowed to be scrapped, its basically one step towards scrapping every car over 10 years old

its funny how they undid a screw on the number plate to make it look like a banger

and you think a big mini compny, like minispares or magazines would offer to buy the minis if people were thinking about the scrappage bonus.
they could rebuild them and sell them on as a car that was saved.

i really hope this stunt doesnt workand raises more anger than interest
theres words for that kind of people but i dont want to upset the swear filters

rant over for now

Yeh by all means scrap the old skodas, volvo's, saabs's, beetles but save our poor little mini and all those employed in it's restoration and parts, and all the other proper classic cars!! We are in a recession and they thought this would help but it's potentially putting people out of more jobs who are employed with the repairing etc... of these cars!!

Something needs to be done!!!!!

I have also protested by email to Hamiltons and most other enthusiasts over on the MINI forums also think this is wrong and will be complaining to them.
But don't forget it was this Government (and Europe) who started these schemes, the car also has to have been owned by the person trading it in for at least 1 year with a valid MOT and at the end of the day it is the owners personal decision to trade in their beloved car for the scheme, no one has to do this................

(Once any car has been traded in under the scheme even the Dealer can't save the car or sell it on, as the government will not release any money towards the new car unless a destruction order for the old vehicle has been officially issued).
