Then yesterday i started pluming in the coolant system and got that all in, its all fine apart from a very small leak in the t-piece i made, so ill get welding on that today and seal it.

Also got most of the fuel pipes done, but got to fit the return to the tanks now.

And just so you all believe me that she is running, videos a bit crap as the vacuums were all open etc...:

Bah iv got loads of time!!!

But weather it all gets done in that time is a different question.

Iv got all the engine bits working as they should now and the rad and fan iv got are keeping the engine cool by the looks of things.

Also i worked out an a way to tension the alternator belt today and give clearance round the block, it a bit naf, but i can fully adjust the tension and it charges the battery at 14.3v so thats good enough for me

Iv just got to sort all the things to get it through an MOT out now!!!

It didnt come with and front side lights/indicators and after searching to find some and seeing the price i went to my local mini/metro place to see if they had any at a reasonable price, but they didnt have any in, but whilst i was looking through some of the parts i found some that looked a bit similar, so i asked the guy how much he wanted and he was well there just off a MK1 metro so say £2.50 so i thought i would give them a go and with a bit of cutting later that look spot on in the front.

So in all iv still got loads to do, but ill do some long days next week and hopefully get it done in time for an MOT on friday or will have to risk it right on the line and do it monday....

I had a QUICK spin round the yard tonight and i must say i even scared myself, when i got out i had so much adrenalin pumping round me i had to sit down lol, and i couldnt wipe the massive grin off my face.

lol yea i guess it does has aspects that are the same as dilly was.

Its got the 1.8vvc in it :D

Well my neighbor was really interested in my project as knew i was in a rush so has come down my workshop the last few days, so we have been working like mad to get everything together. We have still got loads to do but were slowly getting there.

Although i thought the engine bits were done i really wasnt happy with the way the alternator was, so my neighbor modified the alloy engine mount so that the belt can fit round without a pensioner, so iv got a belt being delivered tomorrow so hopefully that will solve that problem.

We have also got all the polycarbonate windows fitted up now, due to being in a rush the rear window fits in the seal, but is slightly to big, so the chrome filler stripes cant go round the corners, so for the trip ill just have a strip along the top and bottom then ill modify the window when i get back. Although windows are fitted to the doors these will now be modified to fit sliders due to the air vent not giving good enough ventilation.

We have also knocked up a heat shield and modified the rad ran so it all fits a better now.

Also the rear arches are fitted up.

Hopefully tomorrow we will get the alternator sorted, have the window sliders fitted up, re-shape the drivers side door loop and fit the front arches, set the caster, camber and toe.

Sorry for not having pictures but we have been a bit pushed for time.
