Rear arch nearly finished, need to grind back some welds and also weld up a small gap.

NSR valence closing panel welded in, just needs spot welding to the rear valence to finish, but couldnt be bothered to go find the spot welder tonight lol.

Debating wether to buy a hand held shot blast gun thing. We have a full blown shot blast area, but means moving the car through there and back, which needs a couple of people. It also needs time and effort to arrange that. Im thinking i could remove the paint using a small hand held one, catch the grit on a tarp and sieve into a bucket to re-use if needed. Then i can paint that area and move on knowing it aint gunna be rusting anywhere.

Just been grinding down and tidying bits up. Started cutting out the OSF floor part to repair, hopefully progress with that quickly.

Need to tidy up some welds still, but lashed some rattle can paint over it to stop the new metal from rusting as a temp measure.

I've no idea why this thread isn't getting the attention it deserves. Looking great sir, keep it up!

Cheers Adam, welding is improving, luckily all the bits im doing at the minute will be covered so wont be visible anyway, so can afford little errors here.

If nothing else, this topic keeps a good log of the repairs lol. Should get interesting once engine starts going in.

I have also been watching from the sidelines lol ... but its a great build Jordie.

Always a fan of long wheelbase minis (I think they should have their own section for the forum though)

Just a quick note - quite a few pics arent working for me, for example this one

do they work for other people? it just shows a little broken image logo for me

That image was uploaded to instagram and linked, so will have to try again with that one.

The other images are uploaded from my phone to facebook, then i think i moved some, so it will have broken the links. I will see about fixing them later in the week.

Thanks, not much going on for you to see, i am still fairly new to welding so it takes me a while to get panels in. Im debating how to remove the paint on the underside, shot blast or old fashioned elbow action etc.

Shot blasted the underside today, from rear valence to the heal board.

Once shot blasted and cleaned from blast media, i painted in acid etch primer to prevent any immediate rusting. This was done to remove the paint and also work any "pin holes" in the metal bigger to aid in repairing the floor etc. Not bad really.

Still need to finish a repair section i had previously started too.

No after pics until next week now, but heres one before hand....
