Got some more work done this weekend, put in a new wiper panel and started work on right lower sill.

Also found out, after a long talk with my partspusher, that the 12G295 cylinderhead i have laying around is quite rare and old. its one of the best org cylinderheads made and i should take good care of it.

Also got 4 chrome hub caps for free!

Old panel out

In place, easy to fit and good shape

Im getting less and less time to work on the mini as im busy writing a bachelor degree which has to be finished by christmas, nevertheless we had another weekend on the mini and we are getting closer to finish replacing panels.

The spotwelder makes a nice and smooth surfaces with little work to be done afterwards, but there is still some places it cant reach, so have to be finished off with the mig.

A week ago i accidently bought my self a new toy:

2014-11-06131140_zps0f60fefe.jpg

A Yamaha FZ750 Genesis, in a rather bad shape. Fixed a hole ind the exhaust and is currently removing paint. its has been spraypainted flat black with the stickers still underneath. it can be removed with petrol, it takes a while to do, but the beautiful original paint is still underneath.

Greeting

Christian

A small update, with very little to show.

Been grinding down welds for almost 2 days but the underside is more or less finished

Finished mounting the 2 rear quarter panels, and welded some small holes throughout the whole car. we believe there's only a few weekends left before we start test fitting parts to make sure all the holes are correct to avoid welding after paint.

Removed the "driprail"? above drivers side door (left hand drive) it was too rusty but a new one will be made.

The car is upside down in the picture

Have a nice week

Had some time after Christmas on the car, and got a lot of work done.

We weren't happy with the front on the car and sourced a brand new heritage front for ~60£, and im glad we did, it is a much better press and made the fitting easier, but it still took 1½ day to get front and wings lined up properly. But the new front have been fitted and it looks like a car again.

I have something cooking for the bonnet as im not quite happy with the crappy hinges.

In with the new

2014-12-26153846_zpsdf9f5fe7.jpg

Even with heritage parts all around the fitment is seriously bad, but after 1½ days of work we got a good enough fit for us.

All in place.

Today i finished my bachelor assignment, which ended up 130pages per project and a whopping 650pages total to print O_O

Also got a job contract beginning late march so i might have a lot of time to work on the car in the new year.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year

-Christian

Lovely build. You have really resurrected that car. I wish I could get someone to help with my builds like that. You have a good dad. Tillykke with your project. Where will you be working? I'm at MAN Diesel. Cheers.

I'm in the main office at MAN, which means that I'm also lucky that you are near by. We should meet up sometime for mutual benefit.

it could be fun to meet up, but im never at the office, always out sailing Nordens oil tankers. :shades:

I have my last exam tomorrow, and then im moving from Svendborg to Herning, as my girlfriend is starting on a education there, which im quite happy with because the mini and workshop also are in Herning.

It seems like i have most of February to work on the mini, so i should get almost all the metalwork done, and with a little luck begin preparation to paint.

Been a while since last update, but i have been busy packing my old apartment and finding a new place to live. My girlfriend and I are living with my parents as the new apartment isn't ready before late February. This means i have had some time on the mini in the past week and should get more done the next couple of weeks, when the girlfriend is in school anyway.

Bought some hinges from a porsche boxter for the hood but im not sure im gonna use them yet.

I took some pictures for you guys:

Hello again.

Been a long time since last post, and i have been a busy man. sourced a new apartment and moved in, in 3 days before i had to leave for work. Then 10 weeks onboard "Nord Geranium" and home for 2 weeks before i had to go on a 3 weeks course in oil and chemical tankers. Then i sold my motorcycle making a 50% profit which is always good. But now i finally have time to do some work on the mini

Bought a new original stock MOWOG front subframe, got it welded today and prepped for sandblasting and painting. My dad had a go on making the new driprails but didnt go as well as wanted since the sheet bender was acting up.

This is how the bike ended up looking before it was sold. Had a run on it before he came to pick it up, damn its fast! :whistling:

Subframe welded, ready to be sandblasted and powdercoated.

Thats all for now, but more to come soon

Over and out

- Cavazzi
