A little more progress on the engine today, its pretty much ready to be put in, just need to finish a little bit more in the engine bay.

Cleaned up and installed the tightening bracket for alternator, radiator on but need a few screws.

Wrapped the exhaust in powerwrap to lower the temperature in the engine bay. A shame to cover op such a nice Fletcher lcb manifold.

Had the ultrasonic out and cleaned some bike carbs for a Kawasaki GPZ1000, quite a difference.

Been a busy week involving lots of beers and cars.

Bought a new daily driver, a Seat Altea 2,0 TDI, and with that sorted i got back to the mini. Recieved the interior from Newton, and must say im very disappointed by the quality and the front carpet was far from a proper fitment. Havent checked the door cards yet, but im hoping they fit ok.

Also bought a set of 38mm carburettors for a cbr900 fireblade to which im in the process of making a manifold for. It will be split into 2 and spaced apart to get the best flow.

What a day! :gimme:

The engine is in the car!

IMAG1386_zpsoybp7xt8.jpg

Shoe horned it in, and quite annoying to fit the bolts but its done, and didnt scratchs anything. Me trying to fit the last bolt.

A template for the inlet manifold

IMAG1380_zps3sqzdtlx.jpg

Manifolds in the car, had to remove the powerwrap as it wouldnt fit in the close space.

IMAG1388_zpskxyzu5g9.jpg

Checking if it would fit, which they without doubt would :shades: Gonna sound nice. Distance from head to shaft on carbs are close so same distance as on twin HS2's.

More to come over the weekend :D

This is probably gonna be the last update for a while, as i soon have to go on work again for another 10 weeks.

I have spent the last couple of weeks finishing of the engine install, driveshafts etc.

Also recieved the new wiring harness which of course needs to be modified to suit my car and needs. more or less finished the engine room but waiting for a fuse and relay box to show up. Fuse and relays will be placed inside the car to give a cleaner look in the engine room.

Sourced a new wipermotor and finally managed to find some brackets for the brake pipes, they came from a Ford Capri and fits perfectly.

Got the wheels back from the wheel shop where they fitted some rubber to them, went with Yokohama A032R semi racing slick and they look awesome on the car, i really like the subtle racing look.

Got the carburettors separated and extended the tubing between them, only need to weld on some studs for fuel pipe and breather, and a small stud for vacuum for distributor.

Didnt like the top steady bar, and made a "clean" looking one from stainless steel.

Today i recieved a oil catch tank and made up a bracket to install it in the right side of the engine room. If anyone noticed, in one of my previous post´s, you can see a small connection for a hose on the right tappet cover. gonna make another one on the tappet cover too, but need to improve my tig welding skills a little before attacking that task.

Well, its been a while since last update. Was at work for 10 weeks and then on a skiing trip to Italy, but now im back working in the Van

Wanted to make an update before going to work but photobucket wouldnt work. before i went of i finished the wiring loom and a few other bits and bobs i dont remember.

Letting the pictures do the talking as usual:

WP_20161022_17_20_00_Rich_zpsbmpbzigx.jp

Bought some original Ermax side repeaters. The law in Denmark dictates its possible to see the indicator from the side too, so they are necessary.

WP_20161104_15_08_37_Rich_zpsjy2jvvlg.jp

Installed a new fusebox utilizing flat fuses, and relays for lights. The car now holds 4 relays and 16 fuses :shades:

Relays are for: flasher, emergency flasher, light, and highbeam

WP_20170215_16_55_23_Pro_zpscymvkr9a.jpg

When i came home we installed the electric fuel pump and filter. Also the exhaust is finished but i dont have any pics at the moment.

PART_1487594390728_zpscguznqsw.jpeg

The car is actually standing on its wheels now, although on some blocks to have a better working height.

PART_1487593449376_zpshmwvk7kp.jpeg

Just this sunday we installed the new laminated windscreen. Went in without problems with enough grease.

A new update will follow in a few days.

Hi Christian

The project is really looking great. Nice to see the attention to details :)

I like the idea of putting the fuel pump near the tank. It looks nice. What fuel pump did you end up using?

I'm from DK too, any dealers of that pump in the country?

Thank you very much. Where do you come from in Denmark? maybe we should meet up someday?

regarding the fuel pump; the pump i bought was a noname of ebay for 150dkr. Its very noisy and will be changed to a secondhand pump of a better brand, possible honda og yamaha originals. The setup at the rear is no problem to make although i prepared the subframe with rivnuts before powdercoating but it can also be done after.

Im currently away for work, but before i left the car was on its wheels and running down the street, while i tried to tune in the new carburettors, i think i almost got them tuned right. Doors are finished and the dashboard extended with a rev counter, water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge, just need to find a transmitter for the oil pressure.

I will try to upload some pictures later if we get good enough internet connection.

Is your pump solidly mounted? if so fitting it onto anti vibration mounts will quiten it down a lot

Partially, It has rubber bands between, but even when holding it in your hand its very noisy. It was mostly a test setup to see if it would work with the cbr900rr carburettors.
