I used that slave for 5 years without problems, what do you mean right grade? Synthetic?

If the Slave is 5 yrs old, maybe its past its best, but as you have suggested have a look behind that rubber boot to check.

The oil is the right grade at 20 / 50 but it should be a mineral oil NOT fully synthetic, as the mini shares the engine oil with the gearbox.

The oil therefore has to be a compromise between what the engine wants and what the gear box needs.

It should be a mineral oil...a good compromise for both the engine and the gearbox

Oh ok you were reffering to the oil still. Yes its mineral, also because its a new engine and the piston rings need to bed in. What do I need to see or not see behind the rubber?

Behind the rubber you want it bone dry, no moisture or dampness

You don't need the pin out.

What is the lockout nut clearance set at? Should be 6.5mm

I changed the clearance in both ways and it didn't change a thing
