Cheers dude!! Went for the first drive last night, after sorting a dodgy throttle linkage it all seems goooood (apart from a small oil leak that needs sorting, stupid me didnt tighten up the timing cover enough cause i was worrying about stripping threads on the plate!!)

Can't wait until its run in so i can really blast it......seems such a shame to be pootling around, but needs must and I want to get it fully run in before i go hooning it around again!

I would put some pictures up but its so dark all the time when i'm around to work on it there woudnt be much to see!!

Leaks now fixed!! Cars not running very well though and due to my silly rev counter stopping working tonite i'm going to leave it to the weekend to try and set it up better so I don't do any damage whilst running it in!

Done 200ish miles now....Its an absolute pain in the arse to start though, can't work out why as once you get it started it runs beautifully!! Tried changing the starter, battery and connecting a battery straight upto the solenoid but doesnt seem to help any, just want to get it run in so I can take to a Rolling Road and get it properly set up!!!

In other news i've bought a few more goodies for it....got some new alloys 10x5 minators, and a few bits for the interior like a map light and grab handle!

Looking for a 2 up 2 down spot light bracket if anyones got one for sale??

Rob

Check your engine earth strap man, i hear that gives the same symptoms that you currently have. A knackered one will be fine once running, as it's low current, but can't deal with starting amps.

Good luck

Mate...I could kiss you!!! Haha....found another earth strap in the garage tonite 5 mins later fitted it an vrooom, started the beasty!! Would also explain why my battery seemed to be loosing charge (I blamed it on the cold!!)

Shame I can't drive it cuase its up on axle stands waiting for the tyres to be changed onto my new wheels!

After un-successfully trying to find some second hand 2 up 2 down brackets I started making my own today. Got the main brackets bent need to drill some holes in them, get them solidly mounted and work out where to put the bar to hold the lights on now. Also hopefully going to be getting hold of some super oscars to go with the wipacs i've already got off my dads mate....thinking an extra relay will be needed with those four blazin the trail!!
