>

Oh, well.

sigh.

I guess we were optimistic but reality has kicked in - having only just got the loom its pretty impossible to get everything sorted for Thursday.

John made loads of progress and annoyingly its pretty much ready to fire up- subject to a bunch of wires being hooked up - but on good advice it would be a big mistake to take it on a 600 mile maiden voyage.

So roofless gets to go to Holland and I come back all enthused ready to finish off the Nun. :)

progress

good old John! got the wiring all finished so we couldnt resist firing the old girl up.

a few pyrotechnics to start with but its running - very badly >_<

it seems to be misfiring maybe and certainly isn't running the way it was on the dyno / test bed.

cylinder 3 seems to be blowing out of the throttle body rather than sucking ! what the hecks that all about?

gonna talk to morspeed and exon tomorrow see what they think.

water is also gushing out of the dry deck fittings

please excuse my dry but optimistic peddle connection solution.

turns out I may have made a boo-boo.

we've been using a ford coil pack when we should have been using a vauxhall XE coil pack - might make all the difference !

new dry deck plumbing kit ordered compliments of MED
new coil pack ordered compliments of DTA
booked in for final dyno and ecu mapping compliments of Exon Race Engines.

fingers crossed for 10 days time :nuke:

Doubtt the coil pack will make that much of a difference. You do have the firing order correct?

The last poor running K engine i looked at turned out to be cam timing.

we've played around with it this afternoon and got really pi55ed off with it.

we searched the web to get an idea of the firing order off the XE coil pack and got it running - but its as rough as cack.

everything seems to going in the wrong direction

dry deck kit is severely incontinent
oil is oozing out the diff by the gallon - big, big puddle under the car after only a week
oil firing out the throttle bodies
flames lurching out the throttle bodies

whats so annoying is it seemed to be running pretty good on the dyno - all we've done is carefully plumb it into the subframe and wire it up and its terrible :D

all our hopes are with paul at exon and simon at morspeed who'll hopefully get it all sorted as it should be when we take her in for a start from scratch set-up next week. :xxx:
