We've moved to a new server! Any problems? (Update) PDF
Written by Jammy_basturd
Tuesday, 13 May 2008

After completely out-growing our old shared server we've now moved to a shiny new turbo powered server with tassles and ribbons and everything! This was a much needed move that now enables us to be viewed by the thousands across the globe without running out of bandwidth, and also to improve and increase the features available to all, some of which will be coming along this month!

In the meantime, I've had reports of some people having problems either logging into the forum (it may say we've moved and gives you an address to forward to), and others aren't getting validation emails. Some of these problems may have been traced to issues with Tiscali/Pipex servers which seem to be slow on picking up our new server's address. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this other than wait, but if its not been resolved soon I'll be sending the boys around to see The Hoff!

We've been looking into this further, and its definitely just a problem with Tiscali/Pipex users. If you are one of the affected users, and you get the 'Board offline' message when you try to view the forums, please follow these following steps, kindly provided by TMF member 'Mort':

First make sure it's not your own DNS cache.

start > run > cmd
Type, and enter after each line
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

If this dose not work then add the ip to your hosts file.

start > run >%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

In the open with dialog box that will apear, select notepad

Add this line to the file.

89.149.242.87    www.theminiforum.co.uk

Save the file, reboot your pc and TMF will now work

Please note this will only work with Windows systems. If you have a different operating system please contact me on the email address below.

Anyway, if you do have any problems, please contact me on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Oli - RIP

Welcome to TMFs very first end of year newsletter (slightly into the New Year, but shush!). Its been quite a topsy turvy year for the forum, so without further ado, here’s a round up of the events of 2007, and a quick insight into all the excitement we have planned for 2008!!

Sadly, I must start off with the most solemn news to hit the forum in 2007. It was with the deepest sadness
