ordered a tyre, so will have had 4 new tyres just about.
Ordered aload of stuff for when the respray happens and hopefully buy the paint today.
- headlamp bowl gaskets
- door handle gaskets
- boot hinge gaskets
- white seam sealer (tiger seal) to apply in panel joins (white so it doesnt darken the paint when applied over top)
- check strap seals
- reflective stick on front reg plate
- etc
will try and get two wheels shot blasted tomorrow and painted on sunday.

well had a go at repairing and painting my wheels.
in hindsight, i should have spent more time working on the kerb rash. on the big areas i used chemical metal, worked fantastically. I left the smaller marks, hoping the primer and paint would fill them, but it hasnt, but its nothing major really.
I aint no painter, i can just about get even coverage on a flat panel so obviously a minilite alloy wheel wasnt ideal for me to paint, but heres some photos. Its abit orange peel in places, but hopefully i can polish the rims up for a smoother finish.
On this photo, you can see the edge with its little marks. i will chemical metal any marks on the next rim. This has had another coat of paint since, as the paint didnt get good coverage between the spokes.

Heres some more pics, its quite shiny even with the orange peel so hopefully will buff up even better.
Hardly any dust in it either and was painted outside.

messed them up. left them on a table to dry, stupidly.....they stuck to the table abit. So i sanded back the back and resprayed, giving the fronts a thin coat to cover overspray from the back, then i seen a run.....DOH
Its hard to paint them hanging up due to runs, but if you place them down on a table etc, the paint sticks to the surface.
Might get them powder coated if cheap enough. Anyway, its all experience....paint mixing, spray gun setup etc.

Only a couple of weeks till paint time.
Ive had an oil leak since I bought the car, NS of the engine. So ive ordered the gaskets to go behind the engine plate and the timing cover. Ive ordered a new timing cover as I find most of time they leak due to been bent by over tightening. New seal etc too.
I am doing this at home next weekend i think, if i can get space in the garage.
Going to do the gear linkage seal aswell, just for good measure.

Sounds like your collecting a nice selection of bits and bobs for it - Shame about the wheels though the finish looked great!
I had to spray mine twice as well before I got them right!

havent got around to re-doing the wheels yet. may end up getting done when the car gets painted in a couple of weeks. Though speaking to the painters at work, they said i havent done bad as gloss black is hardest to paint due to the shiny finish....id got too much paint in places and too little in others.
Need to finish prep on the reskinned door ive done and sort out all my gear ready for the respray. Need some more supplies actually....another trip to the paint shop.
