The rotor looks about right. When say No 1 TDC are you just going by the timing marks or have you confirmed it by observing the valve movement?

I took plug out of no1 and put a screwdriver in till it was at top

What position are the valves for cylinder 1 at TDC?

Just checked valves and they're not moving on cylinder 1, so taken head off. The rods are all OK, so that's either rocker or valves stuck? Or anything else???

Are you saying that when you turn the engine over (by hand) through at least two full revolutions the rockers on no.1 don’t move at all?

When it was together, it was 4,3 and 2 that were moving as they should. No 1 was stuck there like the photo
