Does anyone read this? If so, can anyone confirm if i need anything else, im changing the diff final drive ratio and may aswell do the diff pin etc whilst there.

Ive got
- 3.1 crown wheel and pinion
- New tuftrided diff pin
- Pair of new bevel gears
- 2x thrust washers with little tab
- 2x fibre washers (for the output shafts)
- 2x driveshaft oil seals
- 1x gear linkage oil seal kit
- all the engine rebuild gaskets, clutch seal etc etc.

Do I need to replace the 2 big bearings on the diff? Or if theres no problems, can i reuse them?

I am only changing FD ratio because the engine is coming out to fix some oil leaks (gaskets) so im taking the opportunity to do it. Gearbox drives fine, no crunching or any problems to be honest, just the 3.44 diff is abit too revvy for me cruising at 60+mph most journeys.

CUP HOLDERS! such a great idea...

And you can swap the diff bearing on the crownwheel over, but personally I'd replace them for piece of mind. Only think i can think of that could be missing from that list is the lock tabs for the pinion retaining things

Good luck with that then. Huey is having partly the same treatment here
http://www.theminifo...-picture-heavy/
The old-style bearings e/s of the pinion/diff assembly each had a plastic sleeve retaining the ballbearings and one broke while being drawn off. (Or, not being drawn off, really.) Otherwise we would have put it back on again as it seemed ok.
I thought Huey had a 3.44 f/d but it turned out to be a 3.1. O_O

Most items here, awaiting few bits still.

clean the engine and work on diff tomorrow. :)

New wiring loom cloth tape is here, so can work on the loom and tidy it all up and recloth while the engine is out.

Good work mate, are you happy with the cam if you didn`t know what it was? Never heard of a KC800 before. What colour are you painting the engine? Red for the extra 5bhp? ;D
