Are you saying that you don't know what it is?

This thread exists to ask members if anyone knows what this is. If you know, perhaps you could help?

Thanks 62S and ace01, much appreciated. Any idea on its approximate age? Just out of curiosity.
I intend to keep and use myself on one of my minis.

I was looking through Cooper Car Co stuff and I couldn't see anything this short in anything I have or could find online, all the Formula Junior cars and other stuff had really long inlets. What cars were these used on?

As has already been said its obviously drilled for HS2 carbs but also has 11/4" sized ports at the carb face, there would be plenty of metal left in the casting to open to 11/2" to take the larger carbs.

Thanks to the pic an info given I found out a little on the Vortz racing facebook pag, lots of interesting stuff there. Looks like a Vortz formula R inlet? There is an R under the cooper logo in the casting.

At a guess I would say the manifold was made in '83/84. The Vortz Cooper Formula R cars were a real work of art.

Thanks ace01, the Vortz manifold looks like a vast improvement on the standard AEG573/12G2463 I was previously intending on using.
Its a shame its not a bit older as it will probably end up on my mkII so won't be very period. I just need the air filter box to match now!
